With new innovative authoring tool without deep 3D expertise to create high quality interactive online 3D content / BMWi granted Bitmanagement Onset of state-sponsored development project / goal is a cross-platform modular solution based on the X3D standard / target markets of GIS, CAD - and game developers / Peter Schickel: "Marketing agencies need to catch up with expertise in 3D for the Internet "

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) has granted a new development project to Bitmanagement in Berg near Munich, as part of its support project "Central Innovation Programme for SMEs" - ZIM initiative for growth. The project aims to develop an innovative new authoring tool for GIS, CAD and game developers. These Engineers can develop virtually "by mouse click" interactive 3D content meeting the highest standards in rendering speed, download and 3D streaming capability and integration into websites. Of the tool primarily midsize companies will benefit. The growing trend towards 3D applications should therefore be used not only by large companies.

The tool will be support leading PC and mobile operating systems and Internet browsers. The solution is designed to be platform independent in order to be used on Windows as well as on Mac computers. The new authoring tool will enable 3D content developers - even without a deep X3D expertise - to produce sophisticated 3D models with interactive content for the Web faster and easier.

The project involves the development of an "easy to use" authoring tool for interactive and multi-media X3D content. X3D is the only online-enabled ISO standard format for interactive 3D content, which is used worldwide and exported by leading geometry creation tools. But not the geometry creation itself is in the focus, but the enrichment of interactivity and the simple and safe internet use. Even 3D models that are created in other development tools, such as 3ds max, Maya, AutoCad or Catia will in future be enriched by 3D Web Compiler with behavioral parameters such as interactivity, multi-user capability, physicalization, shaders and other parameters, thus optimized.

For displaying the data different platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Mac systems as well as mobile devices such as Android tablets, netbooks and Apple iPad / iPhone will be considered. X3D scenes thus created can then be tested immediately after uploading online with the BS Contact viewer from Bitmanagement, which will be integrated into the 3D web compiler. The developer has the opportunity to further refine his scenes in real time according to the "What You See Is What You Get" concept.

Additional help is offered to the content developers through special tool components from the product portfolio of Bitmanagement that expand the range of solutions yet. Examples include highly specialized automated functions as a single tool, such as the BS Reducer to reduce polygons, the BS Tiler for download optimization or even a comprehensive SDK. These and other components, including future tools can be integrated into an overall functional context. Peter Schickel, CEO of Bitmanagement sees with 3D Web compiler an additional opportunity to address marketing agencies that can then satisfy the growing trend towards 3D solutions on the Internet easier. After completion of the tool 3D technology will be released from the pure corner of experts, giving way to developers more easily and increasing the usage possibilities for customers, says Peter Schickel.

About Bitmanagement Software GmbH

Bitmanagement is a provider of multimedia software with a focus on online interactive 3D visualization. The multimedia technology for 2D/3D, audio and video is real-time and Internet-ready. Based on the ISOstandard formats VRML/X3D, CityGML and COLLADA, and Java, it allows an Interactive visualization of concepts and products.

Bitmanagement develops and markets a product portfolio of visualization software, which is composed of visualization software (BS Contact VRML / X3D, MPEG-4, Geo, Stereo and Mobile), documentation (BS SDK Package) for animation and different programming tools up to Workflow optimization such as BS Encrypt.

Besides software development the company specializes on content production. The focus is here on creation of interactive online capable 3D models - mainly high resolution city models – based on a cost efficient offshore team of 3D artists.

Bitmanagement was founded in 2002 by three former employees of the Blaxxun Interactive AG, Munich. The company achieved sales growth and positive results in 2011 and is "cash flow positive" since its founding.

Bitmanagement is a board member of the "Web3D Consortium" (USA), which is responsible for the standardization and dissemination of 3D ISO standards for the Internet. Bitmanagement is also simultaneously a member of the" 3D Consortium "for the dissemination of stereoscopic visualization.
