BS Extensions are extensions for the Virtual Reality Modeling Language – the ISO-Standard VRML
The visualization components BS Contact VRML/X3D support tbe complete specification
of the VRML standards due to the standardization ISO/IEC 14772. The 3D software is in conformity with this standard.
The team of Bitmanagement actively supports the standardization of VRML as well as the todays VRML successor X3D
(ISO/IEF(Final Draft International Standard) 19775 and realized the affiliation of several nodes (such as Nurbs) into the
standard. An overview shows up fundamental VRML functionalities.
Furthermore BS Contact VRML/X3D supports extensive extensions, that are needed by todays tools for the creation
of 3D models and worlds. These extensions extend the usability of the visualization components up to a multimedia viewer for photo/
video/ audio and interactive realtime 2D/3D.
The interfaces (API), especially those of the extensions for the integration of the viewer
in products and concepts of third parties, are described in the BD SDK
(have a look at the preview
of the node extensions within the BS SDK). In our Feature Lab
and Node Extension Examples in our developer section,
the node extensions are ponited out technically with examples.
BS Contact Stereo and BS Contact MPEG-4 also support the extensions. The BS Contact J and BS Contact Mobile support
respectively definded subsets of the VRML standards and extensions.
